| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Headline – Historic Cranbury Township gets 21st Century upgrade for Police data management. Cranbury, NJ; November 7, 2005 -- The Cranbury Township Police Department is about to get a much-needed upgrade to their digital information management system. The township announced a contract with Pennsylvania-based CODY Systems to provide a single-source, integrated solution that will streamline the department’s data collection, analysis, and management operations. Located just off the New Jersey Turnpike in Middlesex County, Cranbury Township is over 300 years old, making it one of New Jersey’s oldest communities. The 16 sworn officers of the Cranbury Police Department protect this historic community, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. While Cranbury Township may be a historic place, the police department is about to get one of the most advanced software systems available for law enforcement today. After an extensive search, Cranbury has decided to contract with CODY Systems, a leading provider of windows-based software applications for the collection, analysis, and sharing of police records and other mission-critical data. The township purchased CODY’s industry standard Records Management System, along with an internet-connected remote site client, located at the Hightstown Dispatch Center. The new system will manage all aspects of the department’s record-keeping and investigative needs. Further, via a secure Internet link, the remote-site client at the Hightstown Dispatch will allow dispatchers there to search for records in Cranbury’s CODY System, and relay vital information to mobile units in the field. Cranbury Police Chief John Hansen and Captain Ed Kahler spearheaded the effort to modernize the police department’s information management infrastructure. They both knew, once they saw the CODY System in action, that it was the one they needed. Captain Kahler had this to say after the department decided to go with CODY -- “Man, once we saw what the CODY System can do in terms of report-building, searching, and ease-of-use, it made our decision a no-brainer. We are a smaller department, and were initially afraid CODY couldn’t work with our size. I’m glad to say we were wrong. Not only is their system the best, but their people are too!” For more information please contact: Cranbury PD -- Captain Ed Kahler CODY Systems -- John Rychlak - 610-326-7476 or info@codysystems.com.
